Due to popular demand I am holding another Drum making Class. I hope you will join me at my home in Green Valley Lake, on Saturday, September 18 to make beautiful gourd drums.

Gourds are nature's canvas and are fun to work with. They can be cut, carved, burned, painted, made into vessels, bird houses or where ever your imagination takes you.

In this introductory class we will be making, from start to finish a gourd drum, similar to the picture below. Starting with a cleaned gourd students will learn how to scribe and cut the gourd as well as clean the inside. We will paint the gourd using Gourd Master paints and then concentrate on creating and attaching a goat skin drum head. You will walk away with a complete, playable drum that you will be proud of for many years.

Techniques taught: We will cut, clean, and paint the gourd as well as create and lace the drum head.
Will student leave with finished project? Students will leave with a completed gourd drum that will be suitable for playing in 24 hours
